Food Systems

We build the systems organic family farms need to thrive.

CFSA helps create vibrant and sustainable local food systems throughout the Carolinas by building collaborative networks that integrate sustainable food production, safe handling and processing practices, distribution, consumption, and waste management in order to enhance the environmental, economic, and social health of people and places in North and South Carolina.

Our programming includes:

Food Projects

CFSA now provides Food Systems Business Development Consulting Services to develop and build Sustainable Community Food Projects across the Carolinas.

With Food Projects, we foster and support collaborative efforts to expand the storage, processing, distribution, and marketing of local, organic crops. This type of local and regional collaboration develops new businesses that provide jobs, increases access to local, organic foods, and helps the local food community avoid piecemeal approaches that waste resources.
