Internship Description: General farm work including livestock care, working in orchard and vegetable garden, building fences and gardens, maintaining pastures, and driving tractor. Selling at farmers market. Intern will have the opportunity to experience all aspects of small farming. Research project with farm or educational theme.
Qualifications: Physically able to perform basic farming skills and manual labor, such as walking, stooping, lifting, carrying, and bending.
Able to commit to working 26 hours a week for 8 weeks. Students are welcome to apply, we will work with class schedules.
Honest, hardworking, and reliable with the desire to learn. Good communication skills. Able to work without supervision and self-motivated.
Must be able to carry 50 lb bags of feed and have a driver’s license.
Must be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years of age.
Experience driving a tractor a plus.
Salary/Compensation:
Housing for length of internship, fresh eggs and vegetables as available. Occasional meals.
