Person County Cooperative Extension along with Granville County Cooperative Extension will be hosting a Beginning Farmer Workshop:

Registration will begin at 9 am with the program starting at 9:30 am and lasting until 4 pm. This will be a full day of education for anyone with little or no experience in agriculture, who is interested in starting a farming operation.
Topics will include basic needs for crops and livestock, terminology of farming, economics of farming, equipment, risks and more. This will be a fast paced program that hits the highlights of several areas related to farming and agriculture.
The registration fee covers speakers, materials and lunch. Registration cost is $25 per person or $40 for two people from the same farm. Preregistration deadline is January 31, 2018. After that, the registration fee goes up to $35 for a single person and $50 for two from the same farm.
