Crowdfunding FAQs
CFSA members may submit projects using our online form. Not a member? Join today! The Crowdfunding Board is one of many member benefits. Membership starts at $20.
CFSA asks farm or food businesses to meet the following requirements in order to list their campaign on this page:
- Farm or Food Business is located in North or South Carolina
- Farm or Food Business is a current CFSA Member. Membership is not based on eligibility criteria.
- Farm or Food Business has an active crowdfunding campaign (they will not link to personal payment platforms like Zelle, Venmo, or Paypal)
- The crowdfunding campaign supports agriculture or food-related expenses, including campaigns to lessen the financial burden of personal expenses, like a farmer’s medical expenses.
It is ultimately the donor’s responsibility to confirm that a crowdfunding campaign aligns with their values. In donation-based crowdfunding, the person running the fundraiser isn’t obligated to pay back donors or give them anything else in return for their contributions.
