As you know, Congress is beginning work on the next farm bill. Last week, we asked you to contact your members of Congress on the Strengthening Local Processing Act, an important marker bill.

And we need your support this week to ensure the 2023 Farm Bill includes significant action on climate change.

Sustainable farmers are already doing the hard work of building soil health, sequestering carbon, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Let’s show them the support they deserve by making sure the Agriculture Resilience Act (ARA) is included in the next farm bill. The act supports farmers in drawing down carbon from the atmosphere and storing it in the soil, and it can become part of the next farm bill with enough congressional support.

With urgent action, we can meet our climate goals and dramatically improve our food system while engaging farmers in making the critical changes necessary for our future. Please support the Agriculture Resilience Act today!

Encouraging your congressional delegation to cosponsor the bill takes only a few moments, and it can significantly impact our planet’s future.

Will you take action today to meet our climate goals and support sustainable farming?

Please call your member of Congress today!

Step 1: Call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121.

Step 2: Leave a message for your senators and members of Congress like this:

“Hi, my name is __[your name]__, and I’m a constituent and a __ [farmer, parent, concerned citizen, etc.]__.

“As your constituent, I care about livestock production! The Strengthening Local Processing Act will support livestock producers and processors by expanding their capacity to meet consumers’ needs. Will you consider cosponsoring the act?

“Thank you!”

Thanks for taking action!
